Carling Cup Final and Barclays Premier League Predictions (Sunday)

28th February 2010

Yesterday was a great day as all of my tips hit, including Man City's upset against Chelsea. Today we have a mouth watering final and some Premier League games.

Aston Villa face Manchester United in the Carling Cup final. I would give the advantage to the Red Devils according to their form and experience in cup finals. Manchester United to win at 1.83@BET365 is a good return. Be ready to see Rooney torment the Villain defense.

As far as the premiership goes, tonight we see the Hotspurs at home playing Everton. Both teams have shown signs of form but they are neither consistent. However one thing that is consistent is that they both often score lots of goals. So therefore OVER 2.5 goals at 1.95@BET365 is a good bet.

SUMMARY:
Aston Villa vs Manchester United (Carling Cup Final): Man Utd WIN
Tottenham vs Everton: OVER 2.5 goals

Good luck!

Speedy Recovery to Aaron Ramsey

27th February 2010

A great day of tipping, 3 out of 3. Chelsea losing and Arsenal winning. Unfortunately the sour note of the night is the horrendous injury to young Aaron Ramsey. This post is for him and wishing him a speedy recovery. He is a great player with tremendous potential for Arsenal and Wales. We only hope that he will return to the pitch as soon as possible.

Well done to the Gunners as they turned the game around. Just when they looked like running away with the game, they were hit with Ramsey's injury. You can see the emotion in their eyes, bringing back memories of Eduardo's incident. But then they never gave up and you can see how much the win means to them. I am sure emotionally it struck a chord and I hope that fire and desire to win will continue on.

Our prayers go out to you Aaron, don't give up and stay strong. God bless.

Barclays Premier League Predictions (Saturday)

27th February 2010

It has been a while since I last shared any tips. About time to start making some money again. This weekend we see Chelsea in a big game against Man City. Chelsea is the on form team and they have the EPL in their hands. As long as they win all their games, they will win. However it is not an easy back end for them. With Man Utd, Liverpool still to come. So every game is very important. If any team can upset the leaders, Man City has a good chance. However their form is not very convincing lately. Adebayor is suspended, but that might not be a bad thing. He has not been performing and a Tevez - Bellamy combo seems more lethal. I would personally AVOID this game but if you really want to bet, as a die-hard Arsenal fan, I would go for Man City +1 2.25@BET365.

Birmingham has been surprising people all season, and their form has been quite consistent. Although they haven't beaten some big names yet, but against weaker teams, they have taken full advantage. So at home against Wigan 1.90@BET365, that is a yummy proposition.

Finally Stoke against Arsenal. Arsenal may still be behind in the league race, but they have the easiest of games in the last stretch. Most of their opponents are on the bottom half of the table, so anything is still possible. Although I want them to win, i think they will fall short and finish a valiant second. Stoke however recently has punished Arsenal at home on 2 occasions. For some reason Arsenal just doesn't do well against them. However considering the importance of winning every game, Arsenal will step up and win this one easily. Arsenal to win 1.70@BET365.

SUMMARY:

Chelsea vs Man City: AVOID or Man City +1
Birmingham vs Wigan: Birmingham HOME Win
Stoke vs Arsenal: Arsenal AWAY Win

Good luck!

Poker Trip

11th February 2010

Sorry for not posting for so long. I was away for two weeks, and during this time I played poker almost every night for 6-8 hours. Overall I won a little bit, but there was one tournament that I played in, I was so close to winning it big.

The buy in was $2000, with one re-buy and add-on. By the time of the first break, I had about 10k in chips, chip average was about 20k. But I decided not to add-on. I continued on with my stack, winning pot after pot, made some good lay downs and got into the final table. The 10th guy got out because he was playing stupid and was possibly a bit drunk.

Blinds were 2k/4k. UTG raise to 10k. I was next to act, I looked down at my pocket Jacks. Yummy. I had about 30k total, so I min raised to 20k. Everyone folded until the button. The guy pushed all-in! UTG folded, and I had to call with my last 10k. He flipped over pocket sevens! I was thinking, what did this idiot thought I had? I three-betted on 2nd UTG position with 2/3 my stack.

Flop was 10 6 8.... the bastard now has 6 outs.
Turn was a K... apparently UTG folded AK
River.....river was so sick, so so sick, he caught a 9 for a four card straight!

I was out at 9th place. Had I won that hand, I would be sitting at 70k chips, 3rd chip leader with a table full of short stacks. First place paid 60k, then followed by 36k, 24k, 18k and 12k. That idiot went on to finish fourth and I can only replay in my head how I could have lost a 80% hand.
