Good luck Phil Ivey

4th October 2009

The Final Table of the 2009 WSOP Main Event starts in about a month and one of my favourite players has a chance of winning the bracelet that has eluded him all these years. In 2003 he finished 10th, just one place out of the final table.

Ivey has already picked up 2 more WSOP bracelets this year to put his total at a respectable 7, but he has a chance to get the one he has always wanted, the one everyone wants, the main event bracelet. The 2009 World Series of Poker marks Ivey's first appearance at the main event final table, guaranteeing him no less than a ninth place finish worth $1,263,602. Ivey goes into the final table with the 7th largest number of chips.

Ivey is part of the design team for Full Tilt Poker. He can often be found playing online at Full Tilt, playing high-stakes cash games up to $500-$1000 no-limit and $2000-$4000 limit under the tag Phil Ivey. According to HighStakesDB.com, Phil Ivey earned $1.99 million on FullTilt in 2007 and $7.34 million in 2008.

Good luck Phil Ivey. I hope you win!

  1. I just read a really interesting interview about Phil Ivey at: www.ebmpublishing.com. The interview was very well written and really showed his (Phil) humility. Great article!
